Arrive in Taiwan

September 24th, 2026

We recommend arriving in Taiwan no later than September 24th, giving yourself a few days to adjust to the time change and settle in before the celebrations begin. If you’re traveling from Calgary, keep in mind that Taiwan is 14 hours ahead, so you’ll want to book your flight to depart on September 22nd to arrive right on time.

If you’d like to explore Taiwan and experience the vibrant culture of Taipei, consider staying in the Shilin District — it’s home to the famous night market and conveniently connected to the MRT line for easy access around the city. We’ve included a list of our recommended hotels in the area below.

For those who prefer a more relaxing trip, we recommend heading straight to Tamsui to get settled for the big day — it’s a peaceful coastal area with plenty to see and enjoy nearby.

Explore and Adjust

September 25th, 2026

You can use this day to settle into the new time zone and get comfortable in Taipei. Take it easy by exploring the area near your hotel—there are plenty of local shops, cafés, and night markets to enjoy within walking distance. We also recommend using this day to try out the MRT (Taipei’s public train system). It’s clean, efficient, and easy to navigate, making it a great way to get a feel for the city while keeping things low-key after your travels.

Head to TamSui

September 26th, 2026

If you didn’t go straight to Tamsui when you arrived, today is a good day to make your way there. We recommend booking a hotel close to the wedding venue for convenience, or you can stay directly at the venue’s hotel, where discounted prices will be available for wedding attendees. This will make it easy to settle in, explore the nearby area, and be close by for the wedding day.

2-night Bus Tour

September 28th-September 30th, 2026

This day marks the start of an exciting option for those who want to see more of Taiwan. You can opt in for a 2-night food and bus tour along the coast, where you’ll enjoy Taiwan’s incredible food, culture, and sights. The tour comes at an additional cost to guests (~$500 CAD per guest for the 2 nights/3 days), which covers a bilingual tour guide, hotels, meals, sightseeing, and entrance fees—so everything is taken care of for you.

The best part is that the tour is designed to be flexible—you can go at your own pace, choosing to participate in as much or as little as you’d like. Whether you join every excursion or take time to relax, the experience is meant to suit everyone’s comfort level.

It’s not only a wonderful way to experience more of Taiwan, but also the perfect chance for family and friends to spend quality time together after the wedding celebration.

If you’d prefer, you can also use this time to explore Taiwan at your own pace.

Relax and Chill

September 24th-October 3rd, 2026

Looking for a slower pace away from the buzz of the city?
We recommend heading straight to Tamsui from the airport and settling in at the Golden Tulip Fab Hotel—the very place where our wedding ceremony will be held. Nestled by the riverside, this charming town offers a perfect blend of calm and character, with cozy cafés, sunset views, and the famous Tamsui Old Street just waiting to be explored.
